The summer was hot, very hot. With temperatures sometimes exceeding 40 degrees in the shade, the months of July and August were very difficult for many. The drought began to get worse and worse until the government took action. Indeed, in addition to this, field and forest fires are particularly numerous and severe this year. That is why certain orders have been issued, in particular, it is forbidden for drivers to use water until wash your car at the height of the heat wave. Because of this, many washing stations were forced to close their doors.

Still not working

We could logically think that the arrival of Fr autumn would put an end to this situation. However, in reality, this is not the case, despite the return of precipitation and cooling. In fact, as our colleagues from Western France explain, the rains have not yet been enough to make us forget about this summer’s drought. The famous groundwater is not yet sufficiently filled in some regions, despite the bad weather, although there is a lot of it. Therefore, for this reason in particular, many car washes are still unable to open their doors, and it has been for many months. This is especially true for Brittany. In Normandy, only Calvados took some restrictive measures.

.

Some exceptions

However, Jean-Francois Cann, Territory Manager of Mobilians (ex-CNPA), explains that ” Finisterre granted an exception to allow car washes to reopen half their lanes and only for basic programs that use less water “. If people still can’t wash their car, some specialists have the authority to do so, e.g taxi or ambulance. It remains to be seen when things will eventually improve.
