Kosmin Kontra, 4 rounds of suspension and a fine of 10,000 euros: “I’ve had enough of you bringing in referees who spoil the games”

The former coach of the Romanian national team, after losing to “Damak” (in which Nicolae Stancu also plays) in the match of the 24th stage of the championship of Saudi Arabia, sharply challenged the refereeing.

“First of all, congratulations to Al-Hilal on their 29th win in a row. It was a disgrace of refereeing. We should have had a penalty and Saud Abdulhamid should have been sent off. It’s a shame.

Referee mistakes cost us the game. Al-Hilal has spent a lot of money on transfers and does not need the help of referees. Damak was treated unfairly and deserved more.

I prefer local judges. Let me say it publicly. I’m fed up with the way you bring in referees who spoil the game,” said the Romanian coach after the loss to Al-Hilal.

The disciplinary commission responded to Kosmin Kontra’s statement and suspended him for the next 4 stages. In addition, the technician was also fined 10,000 euros.

Kontra will therefore miss the match against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nasr team, as well as the match against two Romanian players from Al-Ohdud, Andriy Burke and Florin Tenase. Damac is ranked 7th in the Saudi Professional League.
