The mayor of Ploiesti, Andriy Volosevici, has called an intervention group that will try to catch a specimen of a brown bear spotted on the city’s streets on the night of Friday to Saturday, reports Agerpres.

The RO-Alert message woke up a large part of the population of Ploiesti at nine o’clock on Saturday after 1:30, according to data from the Prahov observatory. People were warned to avoid the Rompetrol oil refinery – the area of ​​the Northern Station, and those who live in this perimeter, not to enter their homes.

According to a press release sent by Ploiesti City Hall at noon on Saturday, Volosevici called the local emergency committee for an operational meeting on Saturday morning to develop a plan of action to catch the brown bear.

“The procedures for catching this bear specimen will be carried out in accordance with the current legal provisions. In this regard, Andriy Volosevych called an intervention team that will try to catch a specimen of a brown bear.
