Mikael Panos, 27, has joined Sibiu from Mercure Chuca and is one of Claudio Niculescu’s key men at second division leader CSC Șelimbăr. The Parisian explained to GSP.ro why he is motivated to play for the top spot, even if the team is not eligible for promotion, and how he has changed his perception of Romania.

Mikael was in Romania for almost two years. After Mercury-Chuk, he now lives in Sibiu, not far from the small town of Shelimbar.

“Life in Sibiu is extraordinary, I live in a wonderful city. Sibiu is very beautiful. We have a very close community, many colleagues live nearby, we are close to their families. Therefore, the atmosphere is very good.

I didn’t know much about the country. Yes, I know the image of Romania outside… Ok, in France there are many people sitting on the side of the road asking for help, but I don’t assimilate them as Romanians. Romanians are very nice and treat me well,” Mikael said.
