Since 6:00 a.m., all of Ukraine has been on alert, and shortly before 7:00 a.m. loud explosions were heard in Kyiv, eyewitnesses told Reuters.

Ukrainian air defense shot down 29 missiles and 15 drones launched by Russia during a massive attack, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said, according to Reuters. General Valery Zaluzhny said Russian forces launched 64 missiles and drones in several waves of attacks. A total of 44 missiles and drones were shot down, he added.

The latest figures show that at least four people have been killed – three of them in Kyiv – and more than 30 others (at least 16 in Kyiv) have been injured in mass attacks launched by Moscow across Ukraine.

A fire broke out in an 18-story building in Kyiv, the flames spread from the 10th floor to the 15th. Several districts of the Ukrainian capital were left without electricity and heat.
