Local public administration trade unionists have announced a warning strike in more than 800 commune and city halls at 11:00 a.m., which will end in 2 hours, SCOR Columna Federation reports.
According to the calendar approved by the National Council, an indefinite GENERAL STRIKE will begin on Monday, February 5, 2024.
The protest is aimed at solving the following 3 demands:
1. Full application of the provisions of the Law – framework no. 153/2017 regarding the salary of personnel paid from public funds for local public administration personnel, referring to the minimum wage in the economy of 3,300 lei.
“Currently, employees of the local state administration are not guaranteed by law a salary increase, as is the case with high-ranking individuals or other categories of public sector personnel, who have been blocked by train regulations for 5 years in a row,” according to the cited source.
2. Reforming the system of financing local budgets.
“The local state administration is in conditions of chronic and systematic underfunding, the funding system is anachronistic and uncoordinated, local state authorities are unable to fulfill their duties and powers provided for by the Constitution and the Law, a situation that has a negative character. impact on salary as well,” say the trade unions.
3. Unblocking collective bargaining for civil servants at the level of a group of units/field of activity and stopping the interference of politicians in the performance of public positions.
