For several years now, electric cars have been gaining more and more popularity. This is happening on a European scale, but not only because sales in France also continue to accelerate.

The difference in price
Thus, the market share of zero-emission cars reaches about 15% in our country. A figure that has been steadily growing for several years, although the growth is starting to slow down little by little. And for good reasons, demand is lower than before almost everywhere in the world. In addition, the question of the price of used electric cars is increasingly being raised, and there are many used electric cars for sale. Thus, some experts have wondered which engine loses the most value between electric and gasoline. Then the association of car dealers in Spain looked into the question to get a clear and precise answer to it. For this, experts relied, in particular, on the residual value and offers on various platforms online sales. But that’s not all, because other elements were also taken into account during the calculation.
A sharp decline
This is, for example, a state aid such as an environmental bonus, among others. So, if we take a three-year-old car with 60,000 kilometers as an example, the technology with the lowest residual value is electric, with a drop of about 52.9%. This remains an average figure that depends on many parameters. THE cars with zero emissions followed by hybrids (PHEV) with 66.5%, diesel cars with 67.6%, gasoline models with 71.5% and plug-in hybrids (HEV) with 72.6%. It is worth noting that although pure electric vehicles have the lowest percentage, they also retained their value the most compared to 2019, when they had 52.1%. This does not explain the “fall in sales in China; the end of state aid from some countries and the loss of weight of electric cars in the Scandinavian markets are also related to this difference.
