The Ukrainian military released a new video showing Russian armored vehicles advancing north of Avdiyivka being destroyed by Kyiv forces, noting that Moscow’s leadership “everyone thought they would capture” the Ukrainian capital in 3 days.
“The enemy’s armored vehicles were destroyed in the Avdiyiv direction. They all thought they would capture Kyiv in 3 days,” the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said on page X, referring to reports in the first weeks after the start of the Russian invasion that Moscow was so confident of its victory that it equipped itself. an invasion force with only enough fuel and supplies for a few days of fighting.

The Russians suffered huge losses near Avdiivka
A separate video released by Kyiv forces last week captured the horrific carnage suffered by a Russian assault platoon attempting to attack Ukrainian defenders’ positions here as part of a flanking effort towards Avdiyivka.
This city has become a new “meat grinder” for the Russian military, in recent months several videos have appeared on social networks showing the heavy losses suffered by the invasion forces during the storming of the city.
One such recording, made public in December by Ukrainian forces, recorded the bodies of almost 100 Russian soldiers on one section of the front in Avdiivka. Another, from November, showed how Russian soldiers on this part of the front struggle in dramatic conditions for survival under the fire of Ukrainian troops.
Separate footage taken south of Avdiivka and shared on social media in late November captured a column of destroyed Russian armored vehicles and tanks stretching as far as the eye could see.
Vitaly Barabach, the mayor of Avdiyivka, said last Wednesday that Russian troops were able to reach the outskirts of the city for the first time, but were eventually pushed back.
