
Last year was the second year that Romanian car production exceeded 500,000 cars (Dacia+Ford), and the total number of cars was higher than in 2022. Romania is the sixth largest car-producing country in the EU.
In December 2023, 34,965 cars were produced in Romania. Of these, 22,117 units were produced at the Dacia plant in Mioven, and 12,848 units at the Ford Otosan plant in Craiova, according to ACAROM data.
For the whole year 2023, the production of cars in Romania reached 513,050 units (322,086 Dacia + 190,964 Ford Otosan), which is a new record for the production of cars in Romania.
