Adrian Mutu agreed with CFR Cluj – The coach returns to the Super League after six months

CFR Cluj started 2024 in a way that couldn’t have been worse. Andrea Mandorlini’s team unexpectedly lost 1-0 in Botosani and the Italian coach was sacked.

Despite still occupying second position in the league table, the former champions have just one win in their last eight Super League matches.

The head of the club, Nelutu Varga, announced that he has already agreed with the former coach of the youth team, Adrian Mutu, the last coach of Neftchi Baku in Azerbaijan.

“I spoke with Mutu. We understood each other, yes. Those are the details that we will establish tomorrow (not: the length of the contract and other aspects related to the contract), but we have determined what it will be. Tomorrow we will discuss the details of the contract” – said Nelutu Vargafor AS.ro.

Adrian Mutu, known as a close friend of the owner of CFR Cluj, has FC Voluntari, Al Wahda U21, Romania U21, U Craiova 1948, Rapid and Neftci Baku on his resume, with whom he parted ways at the end of December.
