Russia called Sunday’s explosion at a market on the outskirts of Donetsk a “barbaric act of terrorism” and accused Ukraine of carrying out the attack “using Western-supplied weapons” that Moscow blames, according to a statement released by the Russians. “The neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv, supported by the United States of America and its satellites, once again committed a barbaric terrorist attack against the civilian population of Russia,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“The Russian side categorically condemns this treacherous attack on the civilian population,” the statement said.

Local authorities said at least 25 people were killed in shelling from Ukraine on Sunday in the Russian-occupied eastern city. Another 20 people were injured as a result of the attack on the Tekstilshchik suburb, among them two children, said the head of the Russian-appointed regional administration in Donetsk, Denys Pushylin. He clarified that the shells were fired by Ukrainian troops.

In general, the Russian IAE states, six artillery shells were fired at populated areas. The bombing was carried out from Avdiyivka, which is still under the control of the Ukrainian armed forces – Moscow admits, which declares the use of weapons supplied from the West.

“All this once again confirms his (the West’s – no) direct participation in the conflict and makes him complicit in the criminal actions of the Zelenskyi regime, which once again demonstrated inhumanity and hatred of innocent people,” the Russian Foreign Ministry accuses.

The Investigative Committee of Russia immediately launched an investigation into this crime. “All those involved and responsible for this attack and for other acts of terrorism on our territory will certainly be punished,” Moscow threatens.

The regime of Vladimir Putin uses the opportunity to repeat in its statement the leader’s favorite narrative about the war of aggression that he is waging in Ukraine: “The West’s unstoppable desire to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia through Ukrainian puppets, for which it is ready to support them recklessly and without limits, pushes the Kyiv regime to increasingly reckless steps, including acts of terrorism, massive violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes.”

Russia calls on “responsible governments” and relevant international structures to strongly condemn this “cruel terrorist attack”.

“Their silence will mean tacit approval of the killing of civilians and will encourage Ukrainian neo-Nazis to commit even more bloody atrocities,” Vladimir Putin’s regime warns.

Moscow also confirms that it does not want peace talks, blaming Kyiv for this. “The terrorist attacks perpetrated by the Kyiv regime clearly demonstrate its lack of political will for peace and a diplomatic solution to the conflict,” said the press release of the ministry headed by Sergey Lavrov.

Finally, Moscow declares that it will continue its “operation” in Ukraine until the goals are achieved. “There is an obvious need to achieve all the goals and objectives of the military special operation. Threats to security and terrorist acts must not leave the territory of Ukraine,” the Russian Foreign Ministry sums up. (News.ro)
