Volkswagen is integrating ChatGPT into several car models so that users can issue various voice commands, such as changing the temperature in the car or searching for a restaurant. The announcement was made at CES in Las Vegas.
Starting in the first part of the second quarter, the ChatGPT assistant for voice commands will be integrated in Europe and North America on models such as the ID4 and Tiguan. This feature will also be available in the new Golf.
The Germans are testing these voice commands, the idea is to allow users to do as much as possible without touching a button or touch screen. They will be able to use voice commands to adjust the temperature in the car, control the audio system, change the position of the seats or search for different addresses.
Several automakers are testing the ability to integrate ChatGPT into audio commands and to make sure that the system will work well, the tricky part is making sure the responses to voice commands are as close as possible to the user’s questions.
