The draft decision on payment from the state budget for 2024 of membership quotas and debts of the Republic of Moldova to international organizations was developed by the Ministry of Finance in Chisinau and proposed for public discussion.
In general, 56.5 million lei (Moldovan) were provided for the payment of membership fees and debts to international organizations in the state budget. From this amount, 9.5 million lei will be allocated for the payment of membership fees to the Council of Europe, while a little more than 4.5 million lei was earmarked for the United Nations, the cited publication reports.
The debt of the Republic of Moldova to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly is approximately 6,459,392 lei ($341,225).
“We emphasize that the payment of the debt to the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS is conditioned by the deadline (02.08.2024) for the completion of the process of denunciation of the membership of the Republic of Moldova,” the message reads. document of the Ministry of Finance from Chisinau.
The Republic of Moldova has the status of a member of 59 international and regional organizations, including 5 parliamentary organizations and 54 international organizations.
