Having trouble filling up and finding that the price of fuel has been too high for several months? Well, not so with the government. Actually, the latter decided to withdraw from the fuel check, which was supposed to see the light of day on January 1. And for good reason, if the latter were to be implemented automatically at the beginning of next year, it will not really happen. And the reason is this: the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel are not high enough.

There is no system on January 1

Anyway, it was just announced by Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Economy and Finance into the microphone of BFM TV and RMC. The latter explains that currently the price of fuel is around 1.70 euros per liter, which is too low for the introduction of fuel inspection. Therefore, the minister notes that “there will be no system” because “it is a protection” against rising prices. However, the authorities will have nothing to protect against pump prices are considered too low. But motorists should not look at things the same way.

Not yet

Bruno Le Maire explains that “last time we activated the system when the price of a liter was approaching two euros. To me, that’s a level of anxiety for people to pay for their gas tank.” He emphasizes that “if there is a crisis tomorrow, oil prices explode and gas station prices approach two euros, I will launch a compensation system for fuelers.” […] Approaching two euros, it could be €1.95/l. This is the moment when people tell us they can no longer go to work.”
