The first electric train from Alstom has arrived in Bucharest as part of a contract containing 37 new electric frames that will circulate in Romania in the coming years. What does the Alstom Coradia Stream train look like? When do the next trains arrive?
This train will leave with passengers sometime in early 2024. Three trains have been produced, and the second train that will run with passengers will only start doing so in the summer, starting in June, July or August, so there is still a long way to go. The train will reach a top speed of 160 km/h in the country on the only motorway that allows it, the M800 towards Constanta.

Other Alstom trains will be able to reach a speed of 140 km/h between Bucharest and Ploiesti, Deva – Arad and Sighisoara – Cimmeria. Some enthusiasts have criticized the color “scheme” of this train, saying that the train is ugly. Up close, the new train looks good. In any case, the exterior colors are less important: it is important that these trains are in good condition for the future.
The first train will run between Bucharest and Constanta, operated by CFR Călători.
The train left Poland a few days ago, entered the country in Curtici on the evening of December 2nd, and for more than 600 km to Bucharest, it had the speed of “Intercity Freight”, as it was initially said that the train would arrive on December 5th in Bucharest, but it created a fast, priority “lane”.

I was not able to visit the interior of the train because it is not ready, very few seats have been installed, construction materials were also visible, so the train is not 100% finished and everything will be ready for the official launch at the Alstom branch in Romania.

The train should arrive in a few days for a series of tests on the Făurei ring.

The train arrived from Poland stuck in a cargo hold, as is done with new trains.
