Saudi Arabia, the only country competing to host the 2034 World Cup finals, is in talks with FIFA on all aspects, including finance.
FIFA will receive almost 100 million euros annually from the oil giant in Saudi Arabia
FIFA and Saudi Arabia are close to concluding a commercial agreement that will be the most profitable ever signed by the organization with a local brand on the occasion of the final tournament, writes AS.com.
Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil giant Aramco is poised to become the main sponsor of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
The €92 million-a-year contract will take effect from the moment of signing and will end at the final tournament, a period of a decade.
The choice of Saudi Arabia to host the 2034 World Cup was confirmed by FIFA president Gianni Infantino himself, as the only candidate to present his intention before the deadline.
FIFA has also partnered with local brands in the past to support World Cup editions. In 2018, Gazprom was the official sponsor in Russia, and in 2022, Visit Saudi and Qatar Airways steadily supplemented the budget.
Armaco has previously invested in sporting events, but never before in football. The company supported the Cricket World Cup, Formula 1 or golf competitions.
