
According to local authorities cited by AFP, a passenger train collided with a snowplow on Thursday in Chicago, in the north of the United States, injuring dozens of people.
As a result of the accident, 38 people, mostly passengers, were injured, fire service officials said during a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
Of the injured, 23 people were taken to hospital, and “two or three” were seriously injured, but none were life-threatening, emergency services spokeswoman Kate Gray told reporters.
The accident happened around 10:30 local time near the Howard station in the north of the city.
The suburban train, which was moving at “normal speed”, according to the first information of the firemen, collided with a snow plow on the same line.
