How much money would education receive in 2024

According to Marcel Bolosh’s latest statements, in 2024 the Ministry of Education will have a budget of approximately 51 billion lei, i.e. approximately 2.9% of GDP.

“Investments from the PNRR, together with those coming from cohesion policy, plus the pay rise already delivered since July, make the (education) budget extremely consistent, almost 57% higher than this year’s budget,” he said.

It is not known whether the provisions of the new law on education will be fully implemented.

“It is still premature to say, given that the law on pensions is coming into force. We are still doing simulations,” Bolosh said.

How much money will Health receive in 2024

“A significant budget is also allocated to health care. Investments coming from the PNRR, to which are added allocations from the Health Operational Program of more than 3.5 billion euros, mean that we have an ambitious budget alongside the health component,” said the Minister of Finance.

According to him, the budget for the Health Center will increase by 4 billion lei.

“We will achieve the allocation of 63 billion lei for the Health Center. The Ministry of Health still has 25 billion, that is, almost 90 billion lei allocated for health care, proposed for the next year,” the minister said.

200 billion lei to the Ministry of Labor on pensions

Regarding pension allocations and other social rights granted to the population, the allocated budget will amount to more than 200 billion lei in 2024.

In 2024, Bolosh says, there will be a consistent budget allocated for investments.

“The indicative budget for 2024 is larger than what is allocated now: more than 110 billion lei. This is about 7.2% of GDP,” he says.
