President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Friday appointed Colonel Serhii Lupanchuk as the commander of the special forces, DPA reports.
Later, in a video message, Zelensky presented Lupanchuk as an experienced officer with combat experience who can contribute to the effectiveness of special forces, reports Agerpres.

Zelensky specified that General Viktor Gorenko, who will be replaced by Lupanchuk, will perform special tasks as part of the Military Intelligence Service of Ukraine (MUR).
Gorenko held this position since the end of July last year.
There is no public information about his successor, Ukrainian media reports.
