​Barbora Krejcikova lost her second match at the WTA Elite Trophy 2023, the main favorite lost in three sets to Russian Daria Kasatkinia (seeded 6).

It took the athlete from Russia two hours and 12 minutes to defeat the Czech 7-5, 1-6, 6-1.

On October 14, Barbora defeated Daria in the semifinals in Zhengzhou with a score of 6-3, 6-0.

Krejcikova (10 WTA) and Kasatkina (17 WTA) met for the fifth time on the WTA circuit, and the Czech now has an overall score of 3-2.

WTA Elite Trophy 2023 will be held on October 24-29 on the hard (Greenset) in Zhuhai, China. The competition brought to the start the best players who did not make it to the Cancun Tournament of Champions.

It has a total prize pool of $2,409,000 and 12 athletes at the start (divided into four groups of three players each). The first place in each group goes to the semi-finals.
