
THE Tokyo show opens its doors from October 25 to November 5, 2023, and is an opportunity for car manufacturers to present their latest innovations. Of course, there are Japanese brands, and Toyota use this event to uncover some clues about your future models.
Toyota’s booth at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 showcases several new products, including a new 100% electric concept car: a pickup truck Toyota EPU (By Electric pickup truck), which foreshadows the future model in the Japanese manufacturer’s line.
Toyota EPU: versatile for any use
Stretching The length is 5.07 meters1.91 meters wide and 1.71 meters tall, all with a 3.35 meter wheelbase, the Toyota EPU Concept is a pickup truck with double cabinwhich can offer to 5 seats aboard. In practice, the EPU is about 25cm more compact than the Toyota Hilux, but its wheelbase is 26cm longer. Rear and front overhangs are shorter, benefiting cabin space.
The Toyota EPU has a monocoque architecture which is strong, safe and offers a record carrying capacity. At the back, the skip is versatile and can meet the many needs of users, both for professional use and for leisure. The rear doors can actually be extended to improve cargo capacity once opened.
Inside, there is a futuristic atmosphere, and we will notice the steering wheel “yoke”, its large horizontal instrument panel with storage space, as well as the large display panel located in front of the driver.
100% electric motor
Technically, the model works from the engine 100% electric, even if Toyota isn’t revealing much on the subject at the moment. The Japanese firm emphasizes quiet operation, as well as a low center of gravity, which improves driving stability while offering excellent comfort.
