The highest salaries (over 10,500 lei net) were in IT&C, and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (just over 2,500 lei).

In the budgetary sphere, in July 2023 they slightly decreased compared to the previous month in education (-3.0%, mainly due to the provision of vouchers in previous months, as well as a decrease in the hourly payment of teaching staff during school holidays), in public administration (- 0.6%), respectively, in the sphere of health care and social assistance (-0.5%).

In general, the decrease in the average net salary compared to June 2023 is due to the provision of one-time bonuses, in-kind and monetary assistance, amounts from net profit and other funds (including securities) in the previous months.

Also, the decrease in average net wages was caused by disruptions in production or lower revenues (as a function of contracts/projects), as well as the recruitment of personnel with lower than average wages from certain types of economic activity.

Average net earnings decreased most significantly

• from 14.6% in publishing, from 13.1% in the production of coke chemical products and crude oil processing products, respectively from 11.4% in forestry and logging (including fishing and aquaculture);

The increase in the average net salary compared to the previous month was determined by the provision of periodic bonuses (quarterly, annual or bonuses for special results), in-kind rights and financial assistance, amounts from net profit and other funds (including securities), as well as by production achievements or higher income (depending on the contracts/projects).
