Hidroelectrica will also play an important role in Romania’s promotion to the MSCI emerging market, he said, along with fulfilling the index provider’s qualitative and quantitative criteria.

Hidroelectrica is the seventh Romanian company included in the FTSE Global All-World Index, the FTSE Global Large Cap Index and the FTSE Emerging Index.

With the inclusion of Hidroelectrica, Romania will have a total of 14 companies included in the FTSE Russell emerging market indices.
