Why are suspended roundabouts being built on the Capital Ring Road

Four suspended roundabouts on the Capital Ring are currently under consideration: Domnești and Olteniței are already open, Berceni is still under construction, and in Cernica work has been stopped by an Italian builder who has not been able to mobilize for construction for two years.

The solution of hanging roundabouts is applied in the Capital belt because The capital ring road is connected to the ring railwaytherefore, any passage must decide the direction of traffic and over the railway.

In essence, suspended roundabouts will allow drivers to travel in either direction, as well as bypass the ring railway (without crossings), while the ring road will remain on the ground and no longer have conflicting intersections in its travel path.

DJ 401 (Sos. Berceni) will practically cross the lane through a suspended roundabout, and the lane and railway track will remain on the ground without traffic conflict and crossing.
