
Residents of Khartoum, its capital Sudanthey reported major escalation of clashes today in several districts of the capital following the expiration of a ceasefire reached between rival factions brokered by Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Eyewitnesses also said that one Military plane crashed in Omdurmanone of three cities around the confluence of the Nile that form the wider periphery of the capital.
So far, there has been no comment from the military, which used fighter jets to strike paramilitary operational support forces stationed in the capital as part of the conflict that erupted on April 15 and caused a major humanitarian crisis.
