The third favorite of Roland Garros, Novak Djokovic, reached the 1/8 finals of the tournament in Paris.

The former ATP leader outlasted Alejandro Davidovic Fokin (34 ATP) in 3 sets, at the end of a match in which the Serb had many problems.

Djokovic won the first two sets on tiebreaks and needed 3 hours and 36 minutes to advance to the next stage of the tournament.
