British Airways canceled around 100 flights from London Heathrow yesterday and today due to a “technical problem”.
Most of the company’s flights are operating as normal, but some had to be canceled due to this “technical issue” on Thursday, according to a statement sent to AFP.
The airport, for its part, states on its website that “due to a technical issue that was resolved overnight (…), further cancellations or delays of arrivals and departures are possible today.”
According to the PA agency, citing specialist company Cirium, 175 flights were canceled in just two days, which means that more than 20,000 BA passengers were affected.
Union Unite has planned a strike by Heathrow airport security personnel this weekend, which could “detract from the plans of some passengers”.
