According to the statements of Director General of the Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE), Katalin Kostake, the Ministry of Energy is experiencing delays in meeting the PNRR deadlines.
“There are some small delays on the PNRR Power Component 6 section… they are not really small. The most important delay that is of interest at the moment is the call phase for the production of renewable energy from solar and wind sources,” he said during the “Romanian Solar Summit 2023”.
Component 6 of the PNRR is coordinated by the Ministry of Energy.
“It would normally be great to have the Department of Energy present at these energy debates,” Kostake noted.
Why are there delays on the PNRR?
“We have a delay because the Department of Energy has focused its capabilities on completing the green hydrogen and cogeneration tenders before fully focusing on this tender,” he said.
He clarified that the call was successful: “the subscription was exceeded 3-4 times, the budget is approximately 460 million euros.”
- “He moved to the stage of concluding contracts. I understand that the first 80 projects are already at the pre-contracting stage. From this point of view, something is finally happening.”
“Indeed, the postponement has been reached. What we are trying to do is to support colleagues from the Ministry of Energy to add another 12 months to the time required to implement this investment,” said the representative of MIPE.
That is, instead of the II quarter of 2024, the deadline will be the II quarter of 2025.
