In the first part of the game, with the score 40-40, the phone started ringing, and the referee asked to turn it off.

Confused, Iga realized that it was her mobile phone, took it out of her bag with difficulty and asked the people in her house to take care of the call.

The Polish athlete won the first part of her match against Elena Rybakina 6-2 and led 4-2 in the second set, but her game began to creak and the reigning Wimbledon champion took the match to a decider, winning in a tiebreak (7 -3).

With the score 2-2 in the third set, the leader of the world ranking announced that he could not continue the game. She attributed it to pain in her right hip and did not want to risk a more serious injury before Roland Garros (May 28-June 11).

Iga Svyatek’s refusal from Poland took place after two hours and 18 minutes of play.
