You are probably familiar with Chinese copies of some European cars, but it is not only in the automotive world that Chinese manufacturers are inspired by Europeans.
In effect, The new YY400-5 presented by Jonway is inspired without even hiding from the very famous Harley-Davidsoneverything is five times smaller and almost the same cm3 Less.
Ready to “Chinese way of life” ?
To say that Chinese cars are modeled after Europeans was true a few years ago, but today it is ancient history. We could even achieve the opposite effect with traditional European manufacturers taking inspiration from the Chinese and their electric vehicle know-how.
But the topic is not there, and in the world of motorsports, the Chinese are still copying the Europeans. In France, the Jonway brand is unknown to the battalion, except for a few electric scooters that sell for less than €1,000. In contrast, in China and more than 80 countries around the world, Jonway is a small institution.
His catalog is even pretty well stocked, including several custom bikes with very Indian and Harley-Davidson inspired styling. And the new model that the brand has just introduced won’t make us say otherwise. In effect, Jonway YY400-5 is a custom that is like a Harley-Davidson Fat Bob like two drops of water.
All for style
The similarity is only aesthetic, since in terms of mechanics, the YY400-5 is quite far from its American counterpart. When one is equipped with a 400cc V-twin3the other is equipped with a two-cylinder engine with a volume of 1868 cubic meters3. When one produces 31.5 hp, the other makes 95.
The equipment of this Chinese motorcycle is far from ridiculous: belt transmission, not chain, 120/80 front and 150/80 rear tires, 16-inch wheels, ABS, LCD screen and LED lighting.
All this for a modest sum 3,420 euros for the Chinese market. The price is unbeatable, but if this model ever arrives in Europe, it will definitely sell for more than double. At the moment, Jonway has no plans to import its model to France.
