Toulouse defeated Nantes in the French Cup final

Saved from a thrilling relegation in this Ligue 1 season finale, Toulouse made history at the Stade de France.

The team led by Philippe Montagnier won the French Cup for the first time in the club’s history after a fabulous final against Nantes.

In the 4th minute, Logan Costa opened the score against Toulouse, and 6 minutes later he doubled his team’s lead.

Before the break, Philippe Montagnier’s team scored twice thanks to Tijs Dallinga (23 and 31 minutes).

In the second half, Ludovic Blas reduced the difference with a shot from 11 meters (min. 75), but the last word remained with the team from Toulouse. Moroccan Zakaria Abuhlal scored the 5th goal in the 79th minute.

It is the first major trophy in the history of Toulouse, a club founded 53 years ago.

It’s a nightmare end to the season for Nantes. The Canaries are in 16th place in Ligue 1, tied on points with Brest, which occupies the first place in the ranking. Nantes won the French Cup in 2022.
