The turnover of Premier Capital Hellas, which has been developing McDonald’s restaurants in Greece since 2011, closed in 2022 with an increase of 57%, which the company itself mainly attributed to the strengthening of its network through new stores. However, 2022 has been another profitable financial year for the Maltese company, which has managed to “regenerate” in Greece the most famous global food service brand, especially in the fast food category.
According to the financial report published by the company, its turnover in 2022 was 81.63 million euros, compared to 51.97 million euros in 2021. However, in addition to the expansion of the store network, the fact that in 2022 catering and tourism operated without restrictions, in contrast to the two years 2020-2021, played a decisive role, with part of the sales growth also due to inflation: in 2022, the company five times carried out a reassessment.
Gross profit was €30.96 million from €21.45 million in 2021, an increase of around 44%. Net profit after tax was 2.84 million euros in 2022 compared to 2.46 million euros in 2021, an increase of around 15%.
The average number of employees of the company in 2022 was 1,531 people, the average number of employees was 217 and the average daily wage was 1,314, while in 2021 the total number of employees was 1,490 people.
The company has a network of 29 stores in Greece, the last of which was opened a few weeks ago in Dionysios the Areopagite, near the Acropolis. Another store at Petrou Ralli is expected to open soon, and two new McDonald’s restaurants are expected to open in the second half of 2023. It is noted that the store will be in Haidari, which is at the licensing stage.
Premier Capital Hellas’ goal is to grow its network from 29 stores to 50 over the next five years. The company is particularly interested in developing stores on the islands and in general in tourist areas, and is also considering the development of a store as part of a major investment in Elliniko, as well as in the Vouliagmeni Avenue area. Since 2011, when Maltese Premier Capital started operating in Greece, it has invested more than 35 million euros, and in 2022, its investments amounted to about 7 million euros.
Finally, the company, by decision of its board of directors dated February 21, 2023, decided to establish a subsidiary in Greece in the form of a civil non-profit company in order to carry out charitable actions. Premier Capital Hellas will participate in the creation of the above company with 50% ownership and voting rights, with the remaining 50% contributed by another founder, Carmelo Hilly.
