A surprise at the ATP Monte Carlo tournament. Andy Murray, the former ATP No. 1, crashed out in the first round after losing in straight sets to Alex De Minaur 6-1, 6-3.

Alex De Minaur defeated Andy Murray in the first round of ATP Monte Carlo

Andy Murray is currently ranked 57th in the ATP rankings and was defeated in the first round of the tournament in Monte Carlo.

The Brit was beaten by Alex De Minaur (19 ATP), the 14th seed, after a match that lasted one hour and 28 minutes.

Andy Murray managed to take just one game in the 1st set and although his development picked up in the second act, the Aussie won without too much trouble.

In the next act of the competition, Alex De Minaur will play against Jan-Lennard Struff (100 ATP).

The German reached the first round of Albert Ramos-Vinolas (52 ATP), 6-4, 6-3.

The Monte Carlos Masters runs from April 9 to 16 on clay, has a total prize pool of €5,779,335, with Novak Djokovic as the top favorite and Stefanos Tsitsipas the champion of the last two tournaments.
