The coalition on Tuesday discussed spending cuts of 20 billion lei, given the budget situation, which does not look good, sources close to the discussions said.
The measure in this plan is to reduce the number of members of the board of directors and reduce the amount of allowances for attending meetings.
Adrian Cachiu, Minister of Finance, gave a speech in which he explained that ANAF had collected less than the expected target since September last year, when it would have recorded minus 5 billion lei compared to what was expected.
It should be noted that various measures to increase the levy were also discussed.
In the first two months of this year, Romania recorded a budget deficit of 1.07% of GDP, which is higher than for the same period in 2022 (0.67%). In total, this amounts to 17 billion lei.
