Group Stellantis has just confirmed his plan to his social partners hire 1,200 employees in Francefor 2023. Indeed, the European group’s electrification strategy is detailed in its strategic plan Dare forward 2030leads to the need for transformation and acquisition of skills:

“In today’s rapidly changing automotive industry, developing the skills of our teams is key. According to the logic of one company, we invest in specific actions so that all our employees can acquire new skills, in particular in the field of electricity »Xavier Cherot, Director of Human Resources and Transformation at Stellantis, said on this occasion: “Our role is to anticipate together with all stakeholders, identifying the needs of tomorrow and developing these skills within the company, as well as attracting new talent. We hired 1,050 people in 2022 in France and plan to hire more in 2023.”

Stellantis: Many talents will join the ranks

For this, the group formed as a result of the merger of PSA and FCA will use several levers: on the one hand, attraction of new talents from outsidewhich will bring new skills or experience to the company.

On the other hand, the Stellantis group plans train employees internally, with so-called “business academies”, two of which are dedicated to the development of new skills. For example, the “Academy of Software and Data” has already graduated 250 employees in France, and no less than 13,000 employees have been trained in 2022 in France in electrification.

The energy transition has changed the way car manufacturers work: At Stellantis, some production sites are undergoing a complete transformation, which will allow them to switch to the production of electric motors or batteries using French technology. However, industrial and engineering activity in the production of heat engines in France will continue.

Stellantis: factories transformed for electrification

In addition, Stellantis is investing in the equipment of its 12 French factories, which will produce 12 electric cars. For example, ACC’s gigafactory in Billy-Berclau/Douvrin allowed the workers of this factory to retrain for the work of the future in the field of electromobility.

Last year, 80 Stellantis Douvrin employees were already working in the ACC (Automotive Cells Company) joint venture to prepare this giant factory. In the next year, at least 400 employees will join ACC, with the planned acceleration of production rates.

A similar approach was taken at the Stellantis plant in Tremer-Metz, with 500 employees in the E-Transmissions joint venture and 700 employees in e-Motors in 2024. For this, in 2022, at least 6,000 hours of training were conducted.
