Greek program among top 10 final candidates “Housing and work for the homeless” in the Pan-European Prize for Policy Innovation.

This program is implemented by the General Secretariat of Social Solidarity of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

The awards are organized each year by the Institute for Political Innovation, an Austria-based organization that promotes innovative ideas in politics with the aim of strengthening democracy in Europe.

This year’s awards are presented for the sixth consecutive year and include eight categories: democracy, climate protection, technology for democracy, education, better governance, social cohesion, local development and partisan innovation. More than 1,000 European citizens vote on the basis of the innovation of each program and the impact it has on the local community in which it is implemented.

The Shelter and Work for the Homeless program was ranked among the top 10 programs in the Social Cohesion category among 337 project applicants from 26 European countries.

Thus, Giorgos Stamatis, Secretary General of the organization “Social Solidarity and Fight against Poverty”, will take part in the final announcement of the winners, which will take place in Warsaw on May 11, 2023.
