Hidroelectrica does NOT increase the price of active energy for the final consumer, it remains the same as the current offer, namely 0.28 lei/kWh for household customers (valid for one year from the date of signing the contract), the company sent on Monday

The rate increase is the result of a change in distribution rates effective April 1, 2023.

In February, the company announced that it would add 272 new positions as a result of new projects in which it is involved.

They have a total estimated cost of approximately 5.104 billion lei, and their implementation requires the commissioning of new production facilities with a total installed capacity of over 655 MW combined with an average annual production estimated at approximately 1,763.92 GWh/year.

“We are in a period of challenges – we have to quickly meet the investment requirements of the RePower Europe plan, we are in the midst of the stock exchange listing process, we have an impressive increase in the client portfolio in the supply side. Under these conditions, the change in the organizational structure is aimed at improving the company’s efficiency and strengthening the ability to respond in strategic segments: project management, investment, development, trade and supply, IPO support. As for the operation of hydroelectric power plants, we are proceeding to the implementation of the standard 5.2 employee/operational staff position per shift. These newly created positions will reduce the number of overtime hours performed by operational staff and help prepare for the generational change. We want to attract and motivate well-trained and competitive personnel capable of adding value to our company,” Badea emphasized.

Hidroelectrica is the most profitable company in Romania, the company registered a turnover of 6.3 billion lei in 2021 (the last completed financial year), which is 63% more than the previous year, and an operating profit (EBITDA) of 4.7 billion lei, also by 71% (compared to the previous year). The company pays 90% of its profit to the state budget every year.

“The salary level offered to newly hired employees must correspond to the salary level in the industry, according to the collective labor agreement, as well as the level of motivational packages offered by the multinational companies with which Hidroelectrica enters into direct competition. We clearly explain that all positions will be put up for competition publicly, on our company’s website, and we invite interested parties and those who – obviously, have the necessary training to fill the positions – to follow the company’s announcements,” he added.

Also, Hydroelectricity recently entered the electricity supply market, the growth rate in this segment is impressive. Practically in a relatively short period, the company has gone from about 800 places of consumption in the household segment in 2019 to more than 500,000 at the moment.
