He won his first medal at the men’s level Emmanuel Karalis at the European Indoor Championships in Constantinople. With a jump in 5.80 m. jumper Harisa Karalisa climbed to the second step of the podium, bringing Greece the third medal in this event after Tentoglou’s gold and Andrikopoulos’ silver.

The 24-year-old entered the race with a valid jump of 5.40m, he cleared a second 5.60m and a first 5.70m, as well as 5.80m to enter the medal lane.

In 2018, Karalis placed fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow in 2019, and fourth at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Today, this is the second medal won by our country in the men’s pole vault, after the silver medal of Kostas Philippidis in 2017 in Belgrade.
