E.ON Energie Romania warns customers not to view or open attachments and links sent in phishing e-mails (attempt to steal information) received in recent days, messages related to quotation request and availability of installation of some E.ON products, according to with the company’s press release.

The company does not send e-mails with such topics to clients!

“The price of electricity and gas can be checked on the company’s website (www.eon.ro) or on the price comparator available on the ANRE website (www.anre.ro). Also, more information about E.ON products can also be found on the company’s website,” the document says.

E.ON only provides price and offer information when it receives email inquiries from customers.

According to the company, phishing emails may contain prompts to send a delivery/delivery confirmation, open attachments of an unknown format, quickly fill out requests, or access shortened links that hide the real URL.

The recommendation of E.ON Energie Romania’s cyber security experts is to NOT follow these invitations, as the attached documents or links may contain viruses that will affect the operation of the devices or may access personal data without the user’s permission.

The company advises customers to follow the following general cybersecurity measures:

  • Avoid opening e-mails received from companies from which they do not expect any communication;
  • Do not open or save attachments received from untrusted email addresses;
  • Take your time with email, especially when messages create a false sense of urgency;
  • Check the correctness of the language, usually written unnaturally, with grammatical errors.

To verify an e-mail received from E.ON Energie Romania that is suspected to be a phishing e-mail, customers are invited to contact the company through the communication channels provided:

  • By logging into the E.ON Myline account at www.eon.ro/myline or in the mobile application version, continuously, according to the customer support service at eon.ro/servicii-suport-clienti, continuously, which does not require interaction with E agents. ON;
  • Through the E.ON Chat service available at eon.ro for general answers;
  • By calling the Call Center at 0265.200.900, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the usual rate from any network.
