Everything has been going well at Peugeot for several years now. Indeed, the firm has a number of successful new models, from the 3008 to the new 308, which are also very attractive to customers. That’s not all, because the Peugeot 208 is officially the best-selling car in all of Europe, beating its long-time rival the Renault Clio, as well as its other more indirect rival, volkswagen golf. A real success story of a city car, which is available in both thermal and electric versions. An option that has been very popular with customers since its launch. However, like all manufacturers, Peugeot was also affected by the crisis.

The numbers are slightly down
This is indeed confirmed by the sales figures recently disclosed by the lion brand in a press release. For the entire year of 2022, it was then sold no less 1,056,182 cars Worldwide. This is quite a high number, which may seem very satisfactory. And it’s true. But now Peugeot forgets to mention that it sold 1,214,851 cars in the same period in 2021. So, a bit of a dip for the French brand on record 772,466 registrations in Europe, which is 5.5% of the market. In France, sales fell by 15.6%, against 14.7% in Renault.
Exports are growing
Therefore, if Peugeot cars had little problems with sales in Europe, on the other hand, they are always more popular internationally. Thus, the brand sold 108,065 cars in Latin America, which is currently the second largest market with a market share of 3%. It is followed by the Middle East and Africa, again with good results. A manufacturer that actually occupies 2.8% of the market, which is quite satisfactory.
