Tax evasion of over 30 million euros by online stores

Hiding a large amount of income, more than 30 million euros, from a business that sells products over the internetscan control detected AADE. These companies concealed their income either by not providing tax information or even by selling goods without first starting operations in tax register. That is, they sold without even having the status of a business.

Auditors from the Independent Tax Administration tracked down tax evaders using citizen complaints, Internet searches, and cross-checking data from third-party sources such as bank account openings. Among other things, AADE identified a one-person private equity company (IKE) in Athens that sold sports shoes and that for 2017-2019 did not file income tax and VAT returns, hiding taxable material in the amount of 4 million euros. Another company with the same characteristics and activities in Western Athens did not issue sales documents for 2.1 million euros for the three years 2016-2018, and a third, also in Athens for 2017-2018, concealed taxable material for 1.2 million euros . . However, the activity of electronic deviators is not limited to Attica. Businesses, all private individuals and IKE that stole from the tax office were found in Central Macedonia, Achaia, Larisa, Karditsa, Magnesia, Ioannina and Kavala.
