OUR singer and lyricist Christine McVie, member of the British American difficult Fleetwood Mac passed away today at the age of 79, her family announced via Facebook.

Fleetwood Mac, named after founding members bassist John McVie and drummer Mick Fleetwood, formed in 1967 but has had additions and deletions over the years.

Christine Perfect was born on July 12, 1943 in the southwest of England. She joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970, two years after her marriage to John McVie (she chose to keep his last name). The couple divorced in 1976 after Christine fell in love with an illuminator, but maintained a professional relationship.

Rumours (released in 1977), which has sold over 40 million copies and is one of the best-selling albums of all time, was recorded during the couple’s separation.

This year, Christine McVie released a solo album called “Songbird”.

The family said in a statement that Christine McVie passed away in the hospital after a short illness. “We want everyone to keep Christina in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible person and respected musician who was loved all over the world,” it emphasizes.

The Rumors album included the hits “Don’t Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow)”, “Go Your Own Way”, “Chain”, “You’re Having Fun With Love” and “Gold Dust Woman”. It maintained its position on the US Billboard 200 for a total of 134 weeks and was at the top for 31 weeks.

A post on Fleetwood Mac’s official Twitter account states that Christine McVie was “really one of a kind, special and immensely talented.” “She was the best musician that could be in a band and the best friend that could ever be. He will be greatly missed,” the statement said.
