Argentina and Poland reached the 1/8 finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Even though they managed to beat Saudi Arabia and Poland lost, Mexico are out of the group by just one goal.

Poland – Argentina 0-2, in Group C of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Argentina dominated the match against Poland, conceding many chances and controlling the ball. In the first half, after a shot by the Polish goalkeeper, Lionel Messi missed from 11 meters.

In the second half, Mack Allister opened the scoring in the 46th minute and Alvarez doubled the Cougars’ lead in the 68th minute.

Argentina won Group C and confidently advanced to the 1/8 finals of the competition.

Saudi Arabia – Mexico 1-2, in Group C of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Mexico needed a multi-goal win along with a loss to Poland to finish second on goal difference.

After a scoreless first half, the Mexicans opened the scoring in the 48th minute through Martin, before making it 2-0 five minutes later thanks to Chavez’s superb free-kick.

In the closing minutes, the South Americans pressed in the hope of a goal that would have given them second place, but in extra time Saudi Arabia managed to close the gap through Al-Dawsari, and Mexico, although level on points with Poland, will lose second position for leverage.
