“The COVID-19 pandemic is a global problem, but the manifestations in each country are special. We have from 200 to 400 cases a day, several deaths. There were also days without deaths. It is clear that at the moment, COVID-19 is no longer a health care problem in our country.

But, like any unpredictable virus from the point of view of evolution, there is a recommendation for vaccination, especially since by the end of the month there will be an adapted vaccine BA4, BA5, for people over 60 years old or for people with various chronic diseases. diseases,” said Rafila on Sunday at Romexpo, where the residency exam is being held.

He stated that an “adapted vaccine” will be used for the first time and it is possible that immunization against COVID-19 will become seasonal.

“I personally, for example, will be vaccinated with the fourth dose. It seems to me to be a protection, just as I was vaccinated against the flu. It is possible that in the future we will also have a seasonal vaccination against COVID-19, as is the case with the flu, but it is not has the same impact or nothing to do with the dramatic situation that existed during 2021, when we had more than 26,000 deaths during the fourth wave of the pandemic,” Rafila added.

According to the Minister of Health, vaccination against COVID-19 will be carried out by family doctors and in vaccination centers opened in many hospitals in Romania. (Agerpress)
