
The Republic of Moldova declared the representative of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau persona non grata, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova said in a statement on Monday, CNN reports.
The ministry said that the relevant person, who was not specified in the application, will be “forced to leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova.”
The ministry also communicated its decision to the Russian side and the Russian ambassador in Chisinau on Monday.
The decision was made in conditions where missile attacks on Ukraine “continue to increase security risks” and “citizens of our country are increasingly feeling the catastrophic consequences of the war,” the ministry said.
He added that attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure “generate growing threats” to the energy security of the Republic of Moldova.
Earlier on Monday, several houses were damaged in the Moldovan village of Naslavcha, on the border with Ukraine, after a missile shot down by Ukrainian forces hit the northern part of the village, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova reports.
In this regard, access to the territory was limited, and the number of police patrols was increased. An investigative team led by a prosecutor worked at the scene, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chisinau reports that the Ukrainian authorities reported that this morning a drone attack was carried out on the Dnistrovsk1 dam on the territory of Ukraine, which is located at a distance of 10 km from the Naslavcha dam.
