He pointed out that these situations, even if he will be criticized, are defiant, showing that these engineers, those who were in the special pension system, could have been solved at the time they were legislated by introducing the maximum amount of the special pension, and it was not achieved in this situation.

The Minister of Investments and European Projects spoke about the reform demanded by the PNRR in relation to special pensions, showing that the first step to be taken is to return them to their normal state.

“The pension he receives should not be higher than the paid salary. These situations, even if I’m going to be criticized for being brazen, I don’t think they’re part of anything that people consider normal. These problems that exist in the special pension system could have been solved at the time of their legislative consolidation by establishing the maximum size of the special pension, and we would not have found ourselves in this situation,” he said.

The minister also gave other examples, and referred to “the inclusion in the basic salary of vacation pay, some allowances that are given for the last hundred meters, all kinds of unpaid vacations, because in the last month this salary was the basis for calculating the special pension and again reaching the same aberration, when the pension is higher than the salary”.

“The norm of the calculation base is the same for everyone, because in a special law you have one method of calculation, in another – another method of calculation. We should have had this discipline a long time ago,” he added.
