Franck Ribery announced that he was hanging up his football boots at the age of 39. The last time the Frenchman played was last August in Salernitana’s match against Roma.

He has since been sidelined with a right knee injury. His contract with the Italian team ends in the summer of 2023 but will be terminated and he will take on a role in the technical team.

Ribéry started playing football in Boulogne. Consistently played for Ales (2002–03), Brest (2003–04), Metz (2004–05), Galatasaray (2005), Marseille (2005–07), Bayern ( 2007–19), Fiorentina (2019–21). ) before ending his career at Salernitana.

12 years at Bayern Munich marked his career. With the German national team, he won the Champions League in 2013, the best year of his career. Three times in 2007, 2008 and 2013 he was awarded the title of the best French football player. In 2008 he was recognized as the best player in Germany.

He played 81 times for the French national team and scored 16 goals. In total, during his career, he played in 632 matches, in which he scored 151 goals and made 224 assists.
