OUR Karim Benzema expressed his desire to retire at Real Madrid. The French striker has won the Ballon d’Or after an impressive season at the Spanish club. Benzema was acquired by Real Madrid in 2009, and in a conversation with a Spanish radio station, he expressed his desire to retire as a Merengue footballer.
“I will leave Real Madrid, I have no other option,” Benzema told radio station Onda Cero.
The French striker commented on the award: “This is a trophy that I have dreamed of since childhood. My family is proud of me. This is an award for all the people who have always been by my side, so this is the people’s “Golden Ball”. I had three dreams: buy my mom a house, play for Real Madrid and win the Ballon d’Or.
The 34-year-old footballer also spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo. “It was an honor to play with Cristiano Ronaldo, he is a monster. The day he left, I had aspirations to be a star player and that motivated me to become something more than I had been on the field until that moment,” he said.
