PSD President Marcel Cholaku said on Monday that it was normal for Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke to talk to Defense Minister Vasile Dinka after the latter’s statements about the war in Ukraine. When asked if the PSD still supported him as defense minister, Cholaku handed over the responsibility to the party.
The PSD president emphasized that he will first discuss the situation with the defense minister with the prime minister, and if he “considers that the minister needs to be replaced, he will make a proposal in the coalition.” After my discussion with the Prime Minister, it is normal to have a discussion with my colleagues in the party, because I was not the only one who suggested Mr. Dinka,” Cholaku explained.
Asked what would happen if Dinku resigned from the government, Cholaku said: “We will take note of the resignation.”
We will remind, on Monday the Minister of Defense Vasile Dinku discussed with the Prime Minister Nikolae Chuke his statements regarding the peace talks in Ukraine. Four days after Prime Minister Chuke announced that he was waiting for an explanation, they held an instructive discussion on “calibrating public communication at the level of the Ministry of Defense in the government context”.
