Panathinaikos beat Crvena Zvezda 77:75 in Belgrade in the second round of the Euroleague. Clover celebrated his first victory this year. Dejan Radonic’s team won a return victory in the last minutes of the match.

The hosts took a 6-4 lead, with Holland and Grigonis equalizing. With Bendil’s two-pointer and Lazic’s three-pointer, Red Star Zvezda took the lead 11–6 with about three and a half minutes left in the first period.

Panathinaikos reacted and overtook (11-12) Andrews, while the Serbian team took the lead again (18-14) with Mitrovic. Panathinaikos cut Gudaitis’s lead and the hosts made it 24–18 in the first quarter thanks to two strikes from Dobrich.

Panathinaikos equalized at 24-24 thanks to two shots from Williams. With a three-pointer from Bushorides, Clover outscored 26-27, with the lead constantly changing hands. With two consecutive 3s from Lee and Grigonis, Dejan Radonic’s team went 38-42 at halftime.

At the start of the third period, the guests led by six points (38-44). The Serbs reacted and quickly gained the difference and took the lead (51-50) with a basket and a Bendil foul. With two strikes from Grigonis, Panathinaikos reached a score of 51-52, while the visitors kept a minimal lead (56-57) until the end of the third period.

Panathinaikos held the lead to 61-63 thanks to Ponitka’s two-pointer. At this point, the Radonich team made many mistakes, which gave the hosts the right to overtake by five points (68-63) with two points from Dobrich. Grigonis’ 3-pointer kept the shamrock alive, but a basket and a foul by Hassan Martin put the score up 71-66.

Thanks to a basket and a foul by Gudaitis, Panathinaikos reduced the score to 73-71 with about two minutes left in the game. Shamrock equalized thanks to two well-placed shots from Derrick Williams and went 73–75 ahead thanks to Ponitka’s layup. With six seconds left, Bendill missed and Lee made it 74–77 from the charity streak. The final score was determined by a well-aimed shot by Dobrich.
